Day 303: And here we are

This is Day 303 of 15 Days to Flatten the Curve and Day 63 of Ohio’s 21-day WuFlu Curfew.

Today also marks the disappointing end of the Trump administration — the most pro-America and pro-American four-year period of my lifetime — and the beginning of Daffy C. McHairsniffer and Chuckles T. Hooker engaging in The Unmaking of America.

To echo what Rush Limbaugh said as POTUS #44 assumed office, I hope they fail.

If you’re worth a damn, you’ll join me in helping make sure they do fail, and fail in the most spectacular fashion possible — because if they succeed, America is done for.

When someone tells us that rooting for the new president to fall on his ass makes us somehow un-American — those accusations are inevitable, by the way — we’ll remind them of the Daffy-Chuckles agenda, point by damning point, and then we’ll assure the virtue-signaling tool that working against this administration is the most patriotic thing a citizen can do.

Now let’s get a few things straight. To start with, let’s all agree that we don’t need Trump in order for us to be American as we are. Pining for Trump, hoping for his return, hanging on his every post-presidency word, continuing to whine about the raw deals he got… none of that helps, and all of it needlessly distracts us from what we must do.

What’s more, and for different reasons, we don’t need the Republican Party. The national GOP, the establishment, should be politically dead to us. Whether or not local and state-level Republicans are worth supporting depends on where we are, who they are and what they’re willing to fight for.

Not stand for — fight for.

Next, can we please stop kvetching about the hypocrisy of the Left? Of course they’re hypocrites — nothing we say or do will change that, so for the love of god stop jumping on every example of their inherent duplicity.

Accept that for the Law of Nature it is. Pitch a tent on the sunny shores of Lake Qwitcherbitchin and move on.

Avoid tumbling headlong into The Pit of Frustration. Recognize, right damn now, that there will be much that we can neither affect nor completely escape. I mean, look at the blitz of decrees Daffy promises in his first three weeks — much of it will undo good that was done the last four years. That can’t be stopped, or even slowed.

The Left means to throw shade on true Americans, our families and businesses. They hate us, and this is payback.

Resist becoming frustrated by that. Frustration leads to despair, and despair is lethal.

So, then, what do we do? We can answer that by taking a good look at what the Left wants from us.

They want our silence. They want our obedience. They want our compliance.

They’ve seized power, and now they want control — but they only get the control we grant them.

Stand up and speak out. Defy them. Become a voice they’re unable to silence, a problem they can’t solve, and occupy ground they can’t reach.

Snatch from their grasp the control they crave.

See, what they’re really after is The End of America. If we, as individual Patriots, defend our Liberty and guard our sovereignty, this country still has a chance.

In 1776, a group of 56 men committed treason by affixing their names to the Declaration of Independence. The Signers pledged their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor.

In 1320, by signing the Declaration of Arbroath — which some say was an inspiration for our own Declaration — 39 brave and likewise treasonous Scots, including one whose name I carry, proclaimed,

“As long as but a hundred of us remain alive, never will we on any conditions be brought under English rule. It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom — for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.”

Take the example. It’s not without risk.

I’ll close today with one last quote, this from Ronald Reagan‘s 1964 landmark speech, “A Time for Choosing”:

“Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.”

We have much to do and no time to rest.

We must gather allies, bringing together like minds. Trying to convince and cajole the uncommitted wastes time we don’t have and energy we can’t afford to squander — we need Patriots, fierce and loyal, and we need them now.

Let’s get to work.
