It’s Day 348 of 15 Days to Flatten the Curve.
Deb and I are well, and busy — not enough hours in the day, it seems.
That header image? My first beer, almost 46 years ago. Busch, if you must know, in a steel can.
Our Dipstick, by the way, continues to respond well to treatment for his Cushing’s syndrome. Especially noticeable is that his bald patches are filling in nicely. In fact, if I stare at him for a few minutes I swear I can see his hair grow. It’s like he’s auditioning for a Chia Pet commercial.
For better or worse, I’m in the mood today for only a quick commentary, so I’ll pick up on something I mentioned in yesterday’s “Quotable.” With the avalanche of news, information and spin burying us daily, what’s most important? The most pressing development? The most telling about the America in which we live?
That’s an easy one, at least for me — it’s the continuing military presence in our nation’s capital city.
High-profile Democrats are off the chain, positively unhinged with fear that “domestic extremists” will lay siege to their ivory towers, and they’ve managed to con lots of people into believing the threat is a credible one.
It’s not — nothing, and I mean nothing, can justify the elaborately sinister security cordon around the capitol. It’s all an act. It’s not real. Everything about it is a lie.
The display of force exists only to assert the new regime’s power and to define its opposition as a danger to The Ruling Class. Make no mistake, our Betters hate us. They despise us. They mean to show us who’s in charge and turn our fellow citizens against us.
Because everything benefits from context, let’s add some here. While there’s razor wire and armed troops separating the halls of government from Liberty-loving, law-abiding Americans, the door at our southern border is swung wide for illegal aliens, bringing crime, coronavirus and votes for Democrats.
If you pay attention to only one story in the news, then, that should be it. Nothing is more ominous. Nothing is more revealing.
Take care of yourselves, Patriots. Stay calm. Stay sharp. Stay free.
