It’s Day 379 of 15 Days to Flatten the Curve. Deb and I are well.
This will be brief. The hour’s getting late, and early tomorrow we roll again.
Today was a purely social day of the best kind. Mid-morning we were visited here at the campground by an old friend, my college roommate and fraternity brother, who lives nearby. We spent hours upon hours sitting in the sun on the patio, reliving old times and catching up on what we’d missed over the years.
It was a grand time, full of memories and warmth. And I got one helluva sunburn.
This evening we went out to dinner with our younger boy and our future daughter-in-law, to mark his birthday. We enjoyed great food, handcrafted beer and wonderful conversation.
Tomorrow we’ll hop on the Interstate and travel northwest an hour for a 9am appointment at a Cummins diesel service center. We’ll have them go through Ernie’s powertrain from front to back, change fluids and filters, address an error code we’re getting from the generator and note any other obvious issues.
The goal is to freshen-up the diesel systems and give us a clean starting point for the next chapter of our odyssey. When it’s done, where we go from there will depend entirely on when the work is finished. If it’s early enough we’ll beat a path back to Second Chance Ranch before dark.
We’ll see how it goes. That’s all for tonight.
Take care of yourselves, Patriots. Stay calm. Stay sharp. Stay free.
