A day to be savored

It’s Day 418 of 15 Days to Flatten the Curve. Deb and I are fine.

Around 6:30am this morning I was standing on the riverbank, just upstream from the campground docks. A layer of fog hung over the surface of the water, which was as smooth as this river gets. As the sun rose behind the railroad bridge, now over a century old, the dawn painted a scene that’ll be in my mind for a very long time.

So began the ideal spring day — clear and warm, the trees dancing in a light breeze.

I’d like to tell you all about it.

I just did.

See, some days are made simply for the reveling, for breathing and basking and bringing perspective to our harried lives. This was one of those days.

As Deb said to me this afternoon, “I’m at peace.”

Take care of yourselves, Patriots. Stay calm. Stay sharp. Stay free.
