Not doin’ that again any time soon

Tonight I’m posting from my phone, first time I’ve done that in a while. We’re “dry camping” and, with the memory of dead house batteries the last time we did that, we’re not gonna run anything (like a computer) that isn’t necessary.

We’re in Texas, by the way.

Storms were predicted along the route we’d planned, so we ran north for a while this morning to avoid them. That worked perfectly, but it also turned into a brutal 500-mile day. We’re exhausted and more than a little bit cranky.

We did what we had to do. No regrets, but no plans to repeat the exercise, either.

Fortunately, the Harvest Hosts spot where we’re parked tonight, a brewery in a quaint old Texas town, served us great beers and killer burgers. We’ll feel better in the morning.

Come sunup, we’ll be on a mission. There’s a new refrigerator waiting for us 90 minutes down the road.

Take care of yourselves, Patriots. Stay calm. Stay sharp. Stay free.
