This was a day we’ve been looking forward to since before we left Ohio in May, even before our shakedown in Tennessee. We knew we wanted to come to South Dakota. And while we were in South Dakota, we knew we wanted to visit Badlands National Park.
I’d been to The Badlands 47 years ago. Deb had never seen the place, other than in pictures.
Today we drove west to South Dakota 240, the “Badlands Scenic Loop” that bends south, west and back north, ending 40 miles later at Wall. Our pace was slow, our stops frequent.
It was a perfect day. The experience was magical for both of us.
Beyond that, words fail me. Photographs will have to do the talking.
