Come & take it

This was The Big Day — well, a big day, anyway. Yesterday we got a call from the local Home Depot, saying that our gas stove had arrived at the store and was ready to be picked up. We told ’em we’d be in this morning.

Deb and I both woke up today feeling puny, but we didn’t let that deter us. After grabbing (and paying for) two keyed-alike padlocks (for our storage containers), a couple of orange-aproned twenty-somethings lifted our stove into the bed. I snugged it with a ratchet strap and we set out for Gassville.

Getting it off the truck would be a wee bit more difficult, of course, than watching someone else load it. I insisted that Deb mind Smudge, who can’t yet be trusted alone in the truck, while I backed up to the open storage container and dropped the tailgate. From there it wasn’t hard for me to pull the cargo to the edge and slide it gently to the floor. I didn’t even use the hand truck we’d brought.

We slapped a padlock on the door, securing our gas-fueled kitchen appliance against the State’s illegitimate authority.

Heading back, first we stopped to see Deb’s cousin on The Mountain and drove over the homesite. Then we returned to Harrison.

Now if you’ve been consuming mainstream media recently, you might have the impression that people like Deb and me are certifiably nuts, that we bit hard on a conspiracy theory — that no one in government ever said anything about banning gas stoves.

You’d believe that we’re acting irrationally, that we made it all up.

Bullshit.

On January 9th, citing internal CPSC sources, Bloomberg News reported that the feds were moving to ban stoves and ranges fueled by natural gas and liquid propane. (Notably, Democrat-run cities like Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle and New York City already have, or they’re considering it.) After strong negative reaction the CPSC immediately backpedaled, contradicting its own public positions, and the regime planted talking points with the media.

The narrative insinuates that ultra-MAGA opponents of the current occupant of the Oval Office fabricated the story.

Ironically, that tactic is known as gaslighting.

We’ve got ours. Come and take it, bitches.

Take care of yourselves, Patriots. Stay calm. Stay sharp. Stay free.
