‘The door may already be closed.’

A day trip like the one that Deb and I took yesterday is cheap therapy. The destinations we chose were familiar, close by, and significant to us for one or another reason. And we don’t do that nearly often enough.

Sure, we have work to do here, and we’re doing it. But there’s wisdom in breaking from the mission every few days and connecting with this magnificent area — whether that’s as simple as a picnic lunch deep in the woods on The Mountain, or exploring the region as we did yesterday.

The territory around the Buffalo River is beautiful, almost beyond imagination. Getting the best out of a journey into the area means leaving pavement behind and traveling a web of gravel and dirt roads. It’s a rugged place, steep and often isolated, but as I’ve said before, this is accessible wilderness.

I hope you had a chance to check out the images I included in yesterday’s post. They do a good job of capturing what I’m taking about.

“Today, in the wake of yet another tragedy, I urge Republican lawmakers in Congress to fulfill their duty to protect the American people. Work with us to pass a bill banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, to enact universal background checks, to require safe storage of guns, and end immunity from liability for gun manufacturers. This is the very least we owe every American who will now bear the scars — physical and mental — of this latest attack.”

from a statement issued today by the current occupant of the Oval Office

It’s been only a couple of days since I talked about the Permanent State’s scheme to restrict, prohibit, ban and confiscate — control, that is. I also urged you to consider how you’ll respond.

Last night brought news of mass murder in Maine. Before the victims’ blood had dried on the floors of a bowling alley and a bar in Lewiston, progressives pounced on the carnage to call (again) for a ban on “assault weapons.”

Statements were issued from The White House — not one, but two. Strangely, both the current occupant of the Oval Office and the hooker-in-waiting, separately, signaled their anti-American disarmament agenda.

This kind of posturing on “assault weapons” isn’t unusual from the regime, of course. In fact, a quick search of The White House “Briefing Room” uncovers 39 pages of links to official administration bleating and blathering on the subject.

That’s shameful, obviously, but it’s not at all trivial — these pronouncements come from the seat of political power. And progressives, aided by a national Republican Party that can’t find its own ass with both hands, are close to achieving long-awaited critical mass.

“If you think they can’t, on the heels of this, right now, suspend arms sales, at any moment, they can do it,” said Zac Bauer of An American Homestead, resorting to Rumble to sidestep YouTube‘s censorship of pro-Liberty messages. “The door may already be closed. They may announce that by noon today.”

“You have a limited amount of time left, and I’m not kiddin’ you. They’re going to close that door.If you want a gun, you better get it now. If you want ammo, you better get it now.”

That’d sound positively unhinged if it weren’t true. I believe he’s exactly right.

Now if you’re already adequately armed and suitably stacked, good — you’ve been paying attention and don’t need to wade into the crowd at your LGS and pay outrageous prices. If you aren’t, and provided it’s not too late already, you’ll pay whatever it costs and take what you can get.

“They’re going to close that door,” Bauer observed, correctly. After that, by the way, they’re going to drop the hammer.

Decide now what you’ll do then. Be ready.

Take care of yourselves, Patriots. Stay calm. Stay sharp. Stay free.
