Truth be told, there’s something eatin’ at me, and there has been since I became aware of it last night. As results from yesterday’s off-year election rolled in, I heard the disturbing news that voters in the once-Great State of Ohio — my birthplace, home for most of my life — had chosen to enshrine abortion in its state constitution.
In a fit of cultural narcissism, almost 57% of those casting ballots became accessories to murder. Deserving of even greater shame, in my opinion, are Ohio residents who pay lip service to the inalienable right to Life but were too damned lazy to vote.
I’m glad I wasn’t around to witness this electoral atrocity. Even from a distance, I refuse to soft-pedal my rage — abortion is murder, and anyone who either voted for this misbegotten measure or didn’t vote against it has the blood of innocents on their hands.
But I’m not there, not anymore — Deb and I are here on The Mountain. Almost every day I share with you our experiences, our joys and our challenges. I do my best to help you see this time and place through our eyes.
And that’s where I’d like to leave this tonight. We’ll catch up in my next post.

Take care of yourselves, Patriots. Stay calm. Stay sharp. Stay free.
