Confession — I’d like to meet someone who’s influenced by Doctor Dementia’s latest executive order on “border security.” Y’know, a person who was persuaded to flip from Trump, or who was gonna sit this one out but now plans to vote for ol’ Daffy McHairsniffer.
That person needs a hug.
In the face.
With a chair.
I can’t imagine who could possibly be swayed by such a pathetic, meaningless stunt, but I know they’re out there.
Pathetic, meaningless people. They get a vote, too.
Look, there’s no doubt in my mind that this election will be rigged, just like the last one was. It’ll be stolen from the People with abominations like “early voting” and “ballot harvesting.”
Piss and moan about that all you want, but the nature of political and cultural warfare has changed. The Right must come to terms with that and play by The New Rules. The stakes couldn’t be higher — as my favorite version of Ronald Reagan said 60 years ago,
“We’ll preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on earth, or we’ll sentence them to take the last step into a thousand years of darkness.”
How do we do that? Here’s what I suggested in May of 2022:
“Conservatives must find their ferocity, their fuck-you, and start fighting dirty.”
The Right didn’t do any such thing, of course, and in November of that year squandered as opportune a moment as there’s ever been in American politics. The expected “Red Wave” didn’t happen.
Here’s a secret: Trump’s not the solution. He can’t fix what’s broken.
Make no mistake, now, if he’s the GOP nominee, I’ll vote for him. You should, too. But to the extent that he leads with his obsession over having been wronged in 2020 and campaigns for vindication, even retribution, he can do America more harm than good.
Sorry, but that’s just the way it is.
We saw it in 2021 when he short-armed his support for US Senate candidates in the Georgia runoff and cost Republicans the majority. And in 2022, his appearances on the trail, which could’ve made a difference, were all about Trump. Part of the blame for the “Red Wave” fizzling belongs with him.
Again, voting for Trump five months from today is the right thing to do. But we can’t MAGA by complaining — we have to do the work.
And I mean ugly, distasteful work.
It’s about our country. It’s about Liberty.
Find your ferocity, your fuck-you, and start fighting dirty.
We have 154 days. Get busy.
Take care of yourselves, Patriots. Stay calm. Stay sharp. Stay free.
