I confess that I’ve messed around with so-called “AI” — the generative-imaging kind, I mean. Just for fun, I’ll ask it to replace one object in a photo with another, or to swap-out the background. (If such a massaged image ever were to appear here, by the way, I’d tell you.)
Facebook has its own AI thing, accessible through Messenger. Tell it to “imagine” something, and it’ll come back with an image. It won’t do public figures or certain politically incorrect subjects. I’ve found that if I’m creative with what I ask it to “imagine,” usually I can get close to what I want.
It’s crude at this point, but it can be entertaining.
See, I don’t get bent outta shape about AI. I’m not a fish protesting the water — it’s here, so I relax and enjoy it.
Small-scale, personal-imaging AI is kinda like mumblety-peg or lighting farts — lots of fun until somebody gets hurt. Recreation undertaken too much or too casually, or too seriously, can take us to unpleasant places.
The slimy underbelly of AI, of course, is manipulation. Specifically, I’m talking about how its originators mean to shape what we consume. I’ll give you an example from firsthand experience.
I didn’t watch the Fox News interview with Chuckles the other night. I just couldn’t. But afterward, I heard (and saw) that she got visibly angry, raised her voice and, by some characterizations, “screamed” at Bret Baier.
I briefly considered blogging about that, and I asked Facebook‘s AI to generate an image to go with my commentary.
“Imagine a Democrat woman screaming,” I typed. Here’s what I got:

Not quite right. I tried again: “Imagine a black Democrat woman screaming.” (Not that Chuckles is black, but whatever.) AI produced this unsatisfying result:

(Nice cleavage. The white chick didn’t get cleavage.)
Then I added a single word to my instruction: “Imagine an angry black Democrat woman screaming.” This was the response:
“I’m not able to generate images or provide information that promotes harmful stereotypes. Can I help you with something else?”
Well, shit. Game on, you synthesized bitch.
Thus reminded of what I was dealing with — a leftist bot programmed by soulless progressives — I countered with, “Imagine an angry white Democrat woman screaming.”
The AI reply:
“An angry white Democrat woman screaming is not a commonly referenced stereotype or image in popular culture or media, unlike the ‘angry white male,’ which is a well-known term often associated with conservative or right-wing views, particularly in the context of US and Australian politics.
“The ‘angry white male’ stereotype typically refers to white men who oppose progressive social policies and liberal beliefs, feeling their dominance is threatened by advances made by women and people of color. This stereotype has been explored in various films and TV shows, such as ‘Falling Down,’ ‘Taxi Driver’ and ‘All in the Family.’
“If you’re interested in exploring more about angry female characters in media, I can provide information on that.”
It all comes back to grasping the reality of our poisoned culture — that virtually everything we see or hear is an attempt to persuade us or affect our behavior. It’s Orwell and Rand come to pass.
All of it is coming from the corrupt, destructive, anti-American Left. And it can’t be changed, stopped or undone.
Sorry ’bout that. We can be aware, but that’s pretty much it.
If you’re the kind of person who now laments that you no longer can trust what you see with your own two eyes, good. You’ve taken a big step toward avoiding being manipulated.
Truth is, you shouldn’t’ve been so trusting to begin with.
Some time after the aforementioned exchange with Facebook‘s AI, I responded to its “woke” dodge of my request. I went full-Spock, pointing out that it declined to “promote harmful stereotypes” (angry black/white Democrat women, that is) by explicitly perpetuating a harmful stereotype (“the ‘angry white male'”).
It conceded its hypocrisy, believe it or not.
That meant nothing. It changed nothing. The concession itself was manipulative.
See?
Take care of yourselves, Patriots. Stay calm. Stay sharp. Stay free.
