I doubt that many readers of Ubi Libertas Blog are left wondering where I stand on the agenda of Trump’s second term, now in its third day. Still, to avoid misunderstanding, I want to address a few points specifically.
I endorse the decisions to withdraw from the World Health Organization and the Paris Climate Accords, and to rescind electric-vehicle mandates.
I’m optimistic that we’re seeing the final days of the federal Department of Education.
I enthusiastically back the abolition of DEI initiatives within The Permanent State.
I support the reinstatement of service members dismissed for refusing to submit to The WuFlu Jab.

I approve of the apprehension and summary deportation of anyone residing in the United States who entered this country illegally or who remains here in violation of law. I also stand behind the effort to end the perverse interpretation of the 14th Amendment that permits “birthright citizenship.”
Finally (for now), I unreservedly applaud the pardon and release of nearly 1,500 Americans wrongly charged and unconstitutionally incarcerated in connection with the events of January 6th, 2021.
To those of you who disagree, or who reflexively oppose Trump, I want you to know that I don’t give a flying fuck what you think. Your pseudo-intellectual critiques, grade-school epithets and not-so-veiled threats are meaningless. You are irrelevant to the restoration of America — and to me.
Trump told us what he’d do, and now he’s doing it. A decisive majority of Americans, including me, voted for this kind of disruption.
Let’s get on with it.
Deb had Monday off — the bank was closed for for the MLK observance, of course. A number of customers who saw the notice posted on the door last week chuckled and made the same remark.
“I see y’all are closed on Robert E. Lee Day!”
That once was a thing throughout The South — General Lee’s birthday was on the 19th, celebrated on the third Monday. Arkansas stopped officially marking the occasion only seven years ago.
Deb’s three-day weekend now has stretched to five, owing to back spasms. I stuck close by her yesterday, but today she gave me the green light to head into the woods and resume my lumberjack stuff.
I wanted to knock out something easy and get back to her quickly. The obvious choice was a downed limb right next to Dancing Tree. As usual, I began by cutting away twigs and small branches, both to give me more room to work and to reveal how much usable firewood I could expect.

It didn’t look like much, but a little would be better than nothing. I bucked what I could, then glanced around to see if there was anything else worth taking.

Within 20 yards of Dancing Tree I found two small hardwoods, both dead and both down. I was able to harvest another 20 feet of clear, straight, wrist-sized trunk.

That made the trip worthwhile.
I stacked the modest haul on a pallet at the wood yard. To my pleasant surprise, it amounted to more than I’d thought — more, in fact, than what I got from a substantial limb I brought in two weeks ago.

Pretty decent. A great day to be in the woods, too.
Take care of yourselves, Patriots. Stay calm. Stay sharp. Stay free.
