It turned into a beautiful day, weather-wise. This was the first time The Mountain has topped the freezing mark in five days (though just barely).
Uncharacteristically, I wasn’t in the mood to be out in it, so I looked for other ways to occupy myself. I flipped on the TV and tuned it to Day Two of the 2025 CPAC Conference — a righteous celebration of All Things Trump.

The event’s raucous enthusiasm didn’t alter my mood. It did, however, feed my American soul.
And it broke the silence.
Looking around, I judged the camper’s living space an unsuitable space in which to live. It needed a thorough clean-and-vac and has for months. And so (with CPAC coverage in the background) I cleaned, I organized, and I rationally but ruthlessly filled a bag with trash.
The only spot I didn’t clean is where Scout was laying, unbothered by the vacuum cleaner. She’s mostly deaf now, and I didn’t ask her to move.
Making the Camper Great Again began over two weeks ago, actually, when I noticed that the enormous 53-year-old houseplant by the southwest window was badly neglected. Truth is, it was almost dead.

I disciplined myself to water it daily. I unplugged the cheap Chinese grow-light and treated it to sunshine. As of today, it’s thriving once again.
The last thing I addressed was the cramped RV galley. The way I see it, a kitchen should be efficient and sparse, and this one wasn’t.
It’s better now, the way I like it, and it’s clean.
None of what I just said interests you, I’m absolutely sure of that. All the same, that was my day.
It’ll be another cold night.

Take care of yourselves, Patriots. Stay calm. Stay sharp. Stay free.
