This is Day 362 of 15 Days to Flatten the Curve. Deb and I are ok.
Today seems like a day for quotes and recommended reading.
During a U.S. Senate hearing on Thursday, Sen. Dr. Rand Paul unloaded both rhetorical barrels on Fauci, a grilling that was long overdue. He went at Doctor Doom for his duplicity, his faux science and his mindless perpetuation of “pandemic theater”:
“If you’ve had a vaccine and you’re wearing two masks, isn’t that theater? … What proof is there that there are significant reinfection with hospitalizations and death from the variants? None in our country, zero. … You’ve been vaccinated and you parade around in two masks for show..”
“You can’t get it again. There’s virtually 0% chance you’re going to get it. And yet you’re telling people that have had the vaccine who have immunity, you’re defying everything we know about immunity by telling people to wear masks who have been vaccinated. Instead, you should be saying, there is no science to say we’re going to have a problem from the large number of people being vaccinated. You want to get rid of vaccine hesitancy, tell them they can quit wearing their mask after they get the vaccine. You want people to get the vaccine? Give them a reward, instead of telling them that the nanny state’s going to be there for three more years and you got to wear a mask forever. People don’t want to hear there’s no science behind it.”
Fauci countered that masks are necessary because of the dreaded “variants” (about which there are no compelling data) — what Sen. Dr. Paul (rightly) called “making policy based on conjecture.” This is the same Fauci who, a year ago, said that masks were unnecessary. In April he also gave us this advice:
“I don’t think we should ever shake hands ever again. … Just forget about shaking hands. We don’t need to shake hands. We’ve got to break that custom.”

This week American Greatness published an excellent piece by Max Morton, entitled “Until Lambs Become Lions.” It says what I’ve been saying for years, but expresses it much better than I ever could. Excerpts:
“Traditional Americans need a political movement, and that movement needs an agenda. Agendas define the movement, its people, and its principles. It’s not enough to just be against something, people need to know what they’re fighting and sacrificing for. Agendas serve to keep a movement on the right track by functioning as a guide for decentralized political action. A political movement’s agenda should be simple and concise … if you can’t fit the agenda on the back of a postcard, you don’t have a political movement, you have a cult.”
“Our agenda should be published across conservative media for all to read, understand, and act on. In the long term, it will lead us back to America, to a free republic where you can speak your mind, be who you want to be, and accomplish whatever you have the wherewithal and imagination to dream.”

Another brilliant column comes from Kurt Schlichter, who never pulls his punches. “How Many Times Must We Tell You to Never Apologize to These Scumbags?” appeared on Townhall. Excerpts:
“For those of you who have not been paying attention, it’s not about ‘racism’ or ‘sexism’ or whatever -ism or -phobia these tools are pretending to be upset about this week. The left actively supports racism and sexism — leftists are affirmatively in favor of those things, so it’s not like their performative pouting is a good faith critique of their victim’s words.
“It’s about power, the power to force others to comply by guaranteeing a tsunami of hate toward anyone deviating from the ordained narrative.”
“Never submit. Never explain. Never apologize. Charge into the ambush.”

Now, looking at the calendar, I see that tomorrow it’ll be four months to the day that we brought Ernie home. I’m thinkin’ Deb and I can probably find a special way to mark that occasion.
Stay tuned, my friends. This is gonna get good.
Take care of yourselves, Patriots. Stay calm. Stay sharp. Stay free.
