It’s Day 397 of 15 Days to Flatten the Curve. Deb and I are ok today.
We’ll be gathering with some of our local friends this evening at Squeek’s Bar & Grill — kind of a last hurrah before we hit the road, a bon voyage get-together. More than anything else about the town we’ve called home for the last 16 years, it’s these people and this place we’re going to miss the most.
Today I got to thinking about a few of the maps that’ll guide our travels. Not road maps, really, not an atlas and not smart-phone apps, but the kind of maps that chart where our values are honored and where they’re not.
Those maps are defined by Liberty.
The way we live our American Life, see, isn’t appreciated everywhere. Entire states have laws and decrees in place making it clear that Deb and I simply aren’t welcome.
If you stop and think about it, you’ll understand what I’m talking about.
We’ll do as they wish. It’s a great big country. We’ll go where we’re wanted.
