Sometimes there’s no reason to change the scenery. Sometimes different isn’t better. Sometimes the right thing to do is to return to what’s familiar and good — if it ain’t broke, it’s best to quit fiddlin’ with it.
There’s so much to see and do here and never enough time. And when our friends gave us the opportunity to show them around the area for a day, we stuck with what we know.

We followed the same route Deb and I took yesterday, stopped at the same places and had a picnic lunch in the same spot by McDonald Creek. We had drinks at Eddie’s in Apgar and bounced up the North Fork Road to Polebridge. We ended the day with spirits at Glacier Distilling and dinner at Josephine’s Speakeasy.
The weather and the company were perfect. By the time the four of us climbed out of Mercy at the end of the day, we were exhausted.
Now that’s a good day.
Our Internet connection isn’t playing nice tonight, which gets in the way of me sharing more photos, and frankly I’m ready for bed. So I’ll end this post here.
Take care of yourselves, Patriots. Stay calm. Stay sharp. Stay free.
