All quiet on The Mountain

The backhoe was idle when we arrived on The Mountain this morning. It’s been still since Tuesday, when rain-softened ground bought a halt to the work. More rain Thursday and Friday kept things quiet and now it’s the weekend, Labor Day weekend. It’ll probably be Tuesday before progress resumes.

And that’s fine. Deb and I made a great day of it anyway (pictured).

One year ago today we explored the town of Polson, browsed a farmers market, bought fresh cherries and huckleberries, ate great drive-in food and and generally basked in the grandeur of Flathead Lake.

Take care of yourselves, Patriots. Stay calm. Stay sharp. Stay free.
