Dawn to dusk

Our workamper friends stopped by our site last night to let us know they’d be leaving this morning. The plan, they said, was to hit the road at 7am and get the driving done before the heat of the day.

Deb and I were up with the dogs just as the eastern sky began to brighten. And we were standing by the road when our friends’ rig rolled down the hill. After all they’d done for us over the months, a personal goodbye was the least we could do.

The rest of the morning we held station here — Deb’s cousin had outpatient knee surgery in Harrison this afternoon, and we stayed put ’til we got word that he was being discharged. His girlfriend drove him home, while Deb shuttled his truck to The Mountain.

We hung around there while he got settled, stopped at Black Sheep BBQ on our way out of Yellville and chased the setting sun back to Harrison.

And that was our Wednesday. We’ll return to The Mountain tomorrow morning.

Take care of yourselves, Patriots. Stay calm. Stay sharp. Stay free.
