It was another slow day on The Mountain, a hot day for everyone and a lazy day for us. We were up early, though, to do what needed doing — fresh water in, waste water out. Deb accompanies me on my morning runs to the well now, and it makes for pleasant time together.
Things will begin to speed up again tomorrow and Sunday, I think.
Often we get to feeling that we haven’t made much progress toward the American Life we’ve imagined. It’s just that, of course — a feeling — and we don’t come from a place of urgency. But sometimes we have to cast a brief backwards glance to bring perspective to what’s in front of us every day.
