Last night’s sunset.

Our Mountain Two trailcam was quiet for a couple of months. This past week a familiar trio of whitetails has been hanging around the summit area.

Yesterday brought us the rain we expected. With a little more falling this afternoon, we’ve seen a total of two inches — great for the grass seed I sowed this week. Unfortunately, wet weather forced cancelation of racing at the speedway last night, and the extended forecast doesn’t look promising for next weekend.

The beef herd closest to The Mountain is a kaleidoscope of cattle breeds.

This afternoon we paid our first visit to B’s Bakery in Gassville. Delightful place, amazing selection of fresh baked goods.

Deb drives along the Shawnee Town Branch in Yellville every day on her way to and from work. Lately she’s been remarking about the flowering mounds (watercress?) in the middle of the stream. This afternoon we stopped so she could snap some pictures.

Ozarkansas is in an unstable weather pattern that’ll be with us through the weekend.

When we heard the distinctive growl of multiple turbo-props in the skies west of The Mountain the other day, our first impression was that it must be military, probably a C-130. Not so — the Flightradar24 app revealed that it was a Soviet-era Antonov An-12B operated by Ukraine Air Alliance.

Deb discovered yesterday that our homestead now appears on widely available satellite imagery.

I ‘m already on-record here as an admirer of Tucker Carlson. I continue to believe that he’s one of the most important voices on the American scene today. I’m pleased to say that his voice is even stronger and his reach greater since his dismissal from mainstream media.

As much as I enjoy his regular content via the Tucker Carlson Network (I subscribe), I seek out videos of his appearances on the speaking circuit. They offer insights and perspectives available nowhere else, delivered in his trademark stream-of-consciousness style.

I encourage you to watch the video I’ve included below, a keynote speech delivered a couple of days ago. It’s probably not what you expect, and it’s definitely worth an hour of your time.

Take care of yourselves, Patriots. Stay calm. Stay sharp. Stay free.
